The First of It's Kind In Albania
Downtown One is conceived as a vertical city where people can live, work, buy branded products and have fun with an ideal combination of facilities, services and maximum quality parameters. In full harmony with nature and the surrounding environment, the architectural design offers an optimal balance between the built-up areas and the green areas inside the building. Although Downtown One is the highest construction development in Albania with a height of 144 meters and a total construction area of 77’000sqm, it perfectly merges with Tirana’s architecture and ecosystem.
Downtown One is the very first building in Albania to have been awarded a LEED® Pre-certification on the Gold level by the U.S. Green Building Council, demonstrating our commitment to sustainability. LEED® certification is a globally recognized green building certification program that includes a set of rating systems for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of green buildings that aims to help construction be environmentally responsible and use resources efficiently.
Vakefi played a key role in the construction of Downtown One by supplying advanced glazing solutions that enhance the building's performance and visual appeal. For this project, Vakefi provided:
Double-Glazed Thermal Glass:
- 10mm Cool Lite SKN176 Thermal Glass to ensure optimal energy efficiency and heat control.
- 12mm Space Col Black Argon-Filled Spacer (90%) to improve insulation and minimize heat transfer, offering both thermal and soundproofing benefits.
- 5:5:2 Laminated Glass for additional strength, safety, and durability, ensuring compliance with safety standards while also maintaining clear visibility and a modern facade.
These glass solutions contribute to Downtown One's sleek appearance and energy-efficient design, ensuring the building meets the highest standards of sustainability and performance.
